GUINEA PIGS

It is a species of rodent in the Caviidae histricomorfo family native to the Andean region of South America. It reaches a weight of 1 kg. Lives in open areas and uses holes and burrows to hide and protect themselves. Lives between 4 and 6 years.

Guinea pigs are herbivores , so the amount of fiber in food is essential . On the other hand, the intake of vitamin C is highly necessary as guinea pigs, primates and bats are the only species that do not synthesize this vitamin.
 To prevent deficiencies must be taken to pet a varied diet. Hay serves to meet the needs of carbohydrates and fiber . Fruit and vegetables help to meet their needs of vitamins and most of the liquid required . For food containers should be used to resist heavy clay ceramic tilt and consequent fall food . The sides should be high enough to keep the bedding material and feces away from the food . On the other hand , it is very important that all fresh food we give to our guinea pigs is at room temperature , can never be fresh from the refrigerator.
 Much of their fluid needs are covered by eating fresh foods. Should always be available to a trough with clean, fresh water.                           HEALTH AND HYGIENE

Presentation of a new animal should always be done in a neutral territory free of odors and to facilitate integration.A healthy guinea pig is a sociable animal, with bright hair , chubby , well developed and eating well .  The most common diseases of the guinea pigs are:• Infection with external parasites : lice, fleas , ticks and mange. In this case , administer 2 drops Redoxon ( vitamin C drops) per 100 grams. The treatment should last until the guinea pig improves.

PERSONAL OPINION

My friend has three guinea pigs (1 male and 2 females) and are all well. Males are especially hilarious.
  I also want one bad thing is that I have a Russian and Animal alive until I can not take the guinea pig hamster.
